Post 5: The crossroad Professor Schyttes gate and Rensåsgaten

Before the bombing
On the corner against Fredensborgveien lays the house of probate court manager Vatten. His wife Helga, was a midwife, and their house was hit by a large bomb in the southwestern corner.

Go west and follow Rensåsgaten eastwards.

On the right there are three houses. The one in the middle (Rensåsgaten 8) was hit by a firebomb and burned to the ground. The owner was bookseller Helge Freder, manager of Sundem's bookstore (still in existence). In the house within that one, no. 10, they afterwards found 121 bomb splinters.

Rensåsgate 8 and 10 today
Continue inwards Rensåsgaten and cross over Torvgaten.
