The first Ph.D of the Norwegian Aviation Museum

Stian Bones receives his Ph.D at a ceremony at the University in Tromsø Friday September 27^th. His thesis named “In the Borderland of Containment. Northern Norway during the Cold War 1947 – 1970”, will contribute significantly to Norwegian research in and understanding of the Cold War and Cold War aviation in Norway, and greatly enhance the research activities at and professional standing of Norwegian Aviation Museum.

Stian Bones received the first Ph.D Aviation Museum-scholarship, and worked on his thesis and other scientific and educational projects at the Aviation Museum from 2001 – 2005. Norwegian Aviation Museum congratulates Dr. Stian Bones with the successful conclusion of his thesis and looks forward to future cooperation in the exiting field of aviation history.
