The Cold War, Military Power and the Civilian Society

The book consists of a number of papers presented at the 4th Cold War conference at the Norwegian Aviation Museum in Bodoe in September 2002.
The papers present the best of the ongoing research
in the Nordic countries on Cold War-issues. They
range in subject from Norwegian and Icelandic nuclear
policies to Finlandís precarious position between the
Soviet Union and the West; from Andropovís reports
to Brezhnev to Swedish perceptions of the Communist
countries; and from the impact of the Cold War on
North-Norwegian society to the Faroese struggle to
influence its own position in relation to Denmark and
the USA.
Writers include historians like Magnus Peterson,
Samal Johansen, Kjetil Skogrand, Valur
Ingimundarson, Michael Souproun, Juhana
Aunesluoma, Ralph Dietl and Karl L. Kleve, to name
but a few.

The book is 242 pages long, with the price of NOK 179,-
