Cold War Forum

The period from the end of World War II to 1989-90 has been called the Cold War. This conflict has left its mark on the entire planet in many ways. The Cold War is one of Norwegian Aviation Museumís major areas of interest. This is due to the conflictís enormous significance for the development of aviation. But also because the Cold War has had especially great importance for Norway, and in particular Northern Norway. The Norwegian society has been affected in very many ways by the Cold War.

To be able to present the Cold War in a broader aspect, we wish to build a special museum dedicated to the conflict: The Cold War Globe. On these pages you can read more about these plans.

In addition to the plans about the Globe, the museum has organised several Cold War-conferences. Read more about it in "Events". Most of the lectures from the conferences can be downloaded in "Documentation".

In 1999 we also made a big temporary exhibition called "The many faces of the Cold War". Read more about it in "Exhibitions".
