Organisation and departements
The Norwegian Aviation Museum is organised as a foundation with a board of trustees, consisting of 8 members, appointed by: Department of Culture, The Chairman in addition to one member. Departments of Defence and Transport, one member each. The County of Nordland and the Council of Bodø, one member each. Representatives of Bodø Aviation Historical Society and the employees.
- The office of the Director
The director has the responsibility of both the development of the museum itself and property management, the later organised as a subsidiary company, Norsk Luftfartssenter Bodø AS (Ltd.).
- Research, Exhibits and Public Service Department
Objectives are to organise and implement research within the scope of Norwegian aviation history and impart knowledge, understanding of aviation history. Within this scope lies development, production and maintenance of exhibitions and material for educational purposes.
- Collections and Documentation Department
Objectives are to ensure that objects, photos and archive material of importance with respect to research, documentation and public service, is collected. Collected materials are being kept secured and maintained, and restored if needed. The C & D Department will make the collections accessible on the Internet.
- Administration and Economy Department
In addition to objectives related to administration and economy in general, the department also has the responsibility for marketing and commercial sales activities; i.e. tickets for exhibitions and simulator and sales from the Museum's Shop.
- Building Management Department
Objectives of the department are to run and maintain computer systems, buildings and properties.
